CRITERIA FOR ACCEPTANCE:

  • Attend one of the following high schools:  

    • South Albany High School
    • Corvallis High School
    • Sweet Home High School
    • McMinnville High School
    • Hood River Valley High School

  • Students must meet citizenship or residency requirements, and ONE of the following criteria: 

  • Students who have the potential to successfully complete college but who need academic and counseling support.

All eligible students should consider applying to the OSU Upward Bound Program!

Students with an interest in postsecondary academic success are especially encouraged to apply. Preference is given to those students enrolled in the ninth, and tenth grade. However, allowances are given to current juniors, depending on individual circumstances.

Students who are admitted into the program as rising freshmen and sophomores have the opportunity to participate in TRiO Upward Bound for three consecutive years, so we encourage students to apply early. Annually, there are approximately 15-20 positions to be filled due to spaces vacated by graduating seniors.

  • Request Pre-App from Upward Bound Educational Advisor.

  • After Pre-App submission, Educational advisor will follow up with student to determine eligibility.

  • If eligibility requirements are met, students will complete an Upward Bound Application, which includes an essay, teacher recommendation and parental tax information.
