As a First Generation Latina who grew up in a low-income community and the eldest of 4, navigating my way through a 4 year institution was not easy. It was tough balancing my role as the third parent in my household along with going to school full-time. However, it only takes ONE connection to open the door that has endless opportunities. At WOU I continued to be a part of the UB Program, as a Tutor, RA and Program Assistant. What I have always loved about UB is the support and sense of belonging the program creates for everyone. There’s no “One plan fits all” for students. Each student has their own way of learning, goals and dreams. It just takes that one conversation, connection, or friendly welcome to create endless transformative experiences for students and their families! I am honored to be South Albany's Educational Advisor and I am looking forward to supporting students in every way possible!
